India’s woodworking machinery industry is one of the fastest growing sectors of the country’s economy. Since India joined the WTO in the early 1990s, the woodworking machinery industry has achieved rapid development thanks to loose import controls. It also contributed to the development of the Indian timber industry to mechanized mass production and the technological update of the entire industry. The prosperity of India's furniture manufacturing and wood-based panel processing industry is the result of this transformation, and it also contributed to the success of INDIAWOOD.
Now INDIAWOOD has become the most important woodworking machinery exhibition in India. Due to the huge potential of the Indian market, the original two-year INDIAWOOD is far from meeting the needs of the market. Therefore, DELHIWOOD will be held in the northern city of Delhi in 2009. After that, INDIAWOOD and DELHIWOOD will be held in Bangalore and Delhi in turn.
The INDIAWOOD exhibition area will exceed 50,000 square meters, and more than 850 exhibitors from 40 countries will showcase the latest machines, technological innovations, equipment, smart manufacturing trends, materials, accessories and tools, and will face 60,000 exhibitors worldwide. The exhibition is famous for live demonstrations and product launches.
INDIAWOOD remains the region's largest procurement platform for furniture manufacturers, wood handicraft manufacturers, sawsmiths, carpenters, artisans, architects and interior designers.
